Congrats, Phil, Roy, Claude, Anindita, Robert and Andy (yours was my first choice),)
For those were some EXTRAORDINARY stories!
Thank you, Nam Raj, for remembering me, And not to forget you, Andy, for I’s simply floored by Rose(e).

Congratulations, Phil, a very fine and rather special story, and indeed also to the other placees (is that a word?)

And thank you for your kind words, Rathin. I’m glad you like Rose – and thanks to the others who voted for her too.

I’m unlikely to be writing here for a while – Autumn seems always to be a very busy time for me, and I have some way overdue longer pieces of writing to work on when moments allow. (I think I had a big gap around the same time last year too.) In the meantime, good luck and happy writing to you all!

That’s a shame, Andy … but Happy Writing! … and come back soon.

To Phil and all the other winners (you know who you are) a big congratulations. Robt Emmett I placed you much higher in this little contest than where you finally ended up. You had a good story.

I couldn’t decide between Phil and Andy, but eventually came to a conclusion for Andy, only because of Rose, the taxi dancer with whom I fell slightly in love. Although in my fantasy I stayed the night, but not in her grandmother’s bed. Andy, hope to see you back soon. You are a talented writer.

I ended up surprised at second place, but I’m finding my successes are with writing about childhood with descriptive dialogue. Guess there will be more of that in the near future including the next item up: Wedding. Already got an idea.
