Congratulations Andy. Well deserved. It made me want to marry someone and go off to war. Whereas Philip’s story made me want to ,,,,,,,,,,,jump off a building, but if I lived, I would swear to take action, rally the populace, shout ‘we’re not gonna take it anymore’, and throw the rascals out in the street. (Course now, if I’d gotten my story in on time, Andy, fixed my spelling errors and added a mess o’ bunnies, I might’ve given you a run for your money. People love bunnies. Well hell, I don’t have to tell you, it was your idea.) Which reminds me, it was one of those times when, I’m sure you have them, when you think, ‘man, what I wouldn’t give for a time machine right now.’ To all the writers. (Not that many of you are ever going to read this, but…) It was very tough to pick a best story, a second best, a third best, the whole top five, as all the stories were interesting, well-written and a pleasure to read. I’m no cheerleader, but my figurative hat’s off to all.

By the way, Ladies, how come I’ve been at the top of the writing prompt roster, but you never axe me for a prompt? I’ve been at the top of that list for 32 months. (No exaggeration.) Meanwhile, in the last six days you’ve come up with three prompts, two bonus stories and a bowl of popcorn. (Even less exaggeration.) What gives?

Now….I don’t actually want to come up with anything. In fact, if you ask me to suggest one, I will defer. That way—you can’t win. (I can’t either, but that’s irrelevant to idiots like me.) I just wanted to prove,,,,that I’m paying attention all in and around this place here, and I’m seein’ my name at the top of that list, and I’m thinkin’,,,,,,, I should be gettin’ a call here soon. If I understand the basic function of a list, and I do, I should be gettin’ a call. But,,,,,,,,,that phone ain’t ringin’, Do you two hear it? I don’t hear it. I-don’t-hear-no-ringin’. Hm. I’m sure, knowing you two as well as i do. Kim tells me I call out your names in my sleep sometimes. She says I sometimes cry out, ‘Intimidator’, or yell ‘Old Blood ‘n’ Guts!’ Sometimes I just howl. In my sleep of course. Anyway, I’m sure there is a good explanation for the mixup. Like, an alien power outage caused by a magic,,,cal, magical, ……microwave ready cheese grater….. made of teflon,…… which has been frozen in ice for one hundred and eighty six million………….. and forty three years, and still contains the DNA of the dinosaur that once used it. (Do Not…I repeat, DO NOT use bunnies as a prompt. I wouldn’t do it. Don’t do it. Don’t.)

Oh. It’s in alphabetical order. Okay Well. We’re all good here then. Never mind. Pay no attention to my previous comment. (except for the bunnies. Don’t do the bunnies.)

Many thanks Alice, Phil, Ken and Roy (in the other thread) – your kind comments much appreciated.

Have a Happy Easter Weekend, everyone. Ken’s playing the Easter Rabbit this year, I believe, with a large retinue of his bunnies. Watch out for the pictures on Facebook!
